Cabinet Office Finance:
Cabinet Office Finance is responsible for all aspects of the Cabinet Office's finances, including business and financial planning, performance reporting, in-year financial management, financial accounting,management of Parliamentary Supply, and production of the Cabinet Office's annual accounts. Cabinet Office Finance is within Assurance, Finance and Controls Group, a multidisciplinary team that brings together finance, commercial and other corporate functions under the leadership of the Cabinet Office Chief Financial Officer.
Within Finance, the Business Partner teams leads engagement with business units across the department. We need to be resourceful, exercise good judgement and have quick reflexes to make sure that senior leaders have the right financial advice at the right time to deliver important and urgent parts of the Government's agenda. Job Description

Job descriptionHigh-profile role in a high-performing team in the heart of the organisation. In this role you will be overseeing the analysis and presentation of financial planning and efficiency information. You will have the opportunity to be involved the Spending Review 2021 and Business Planning and budgets for the next financial year.
A key focus of the post-holder's work is analysing data received from business areas and providing challenge. The post-holder will also design and manage projects which deliver insight to drive Board-level discussions and facilitate strategic level decision-making.
The post-holder will deliver analysis and insight for strategic planning, fiscal events and stock-takes and oversee timely responses to requests for information from HMT, the Chief Financial Officer, Permanent Secretary and Ministers.

Responsibilities* Analysing financial and non-financial data to provide scrutiny and challenge to Directors General and Directors on financial plans and efficiency plans.
* Lead on ensuring that there is effective collaboration with finance business partners, the Finance In-Year Reporting team and colleagues in Strategy, HR, Functions and other Corporate Services teams to ensure a joined-up approach to planning across the corporate teams.
* Support other fiscal events such as delivery of Spending Reviews and efficiency reviews.
* Carry out strategic analysis in order to ensure value for money in the department and design and implement projects which deliver the necessary analysis and insight required by decision makers.
* Assist with the preparation of papers and submissions to Boards, Senior Civil Servants and Ministers.
* The post holder may be required to, and have the opportunity to, undertake additional responsibilities as expected in relation to the role and grade, including assisting the In-Year team (which also sits in Planning & Performance) with Management Information Reporting and the Parliamentary Supply Estimate Process.

The Successful Applicant

* Finance experience
* Excellent stakeholder management/engagement skills
* Excellent analytical skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong Excel and data analysis skills combined with an understanding of how this should be applied for the benefit of the organisation.
* Previous experience working across a government department with stakeholders at multiple levels.
* Experience with Google Docs and Sheets, and Google scripting.
* Knowledge of government finance and the operation of fiscal
* CCAB, or equivalent, qualified (or with considerable financial/ commercial experience and/or the ability to gain formal CCAB qualifications within a reasonable time
