A Large London based Housing Association.

Job Description

For the successful Gas Operational Manager they will be required to:

To manage gas service repair contracts to ensure full compliance and governance with gas legislation and Trust

policies.

In addition to provide sector leading repairs programme to gas related heating systems.

To monitor and manage the gas servicing and repair contracts and to provide cash flow forecasting to the gas manager.

To deal with variations and to promote high levels of resident satisfaction through the work delivered by third party contractors.

To manage and oversee the productivity and quality of work provided by the Technical Assistants that you manage.

To manage the Gas Technical advisors to ensure you are providing a robust quality assurance process on gas works undertaken by the Housing Associations contractors.

To undertake regular reviews, manage leave requests and training of the Technical Assistant under your management.

To manage large complex heating projects in a timely and efficient manner, representing the Housing Association as the face of the project.

To ensure Corporate and health and safety compliance obligations are adhered to by all direct reports.

To ensure continued professional development, to manage the gas servicing and repair, boiler replacement contracts.

To work with the gas manager to ensure management of key data.

To ensure quality controls through work carried out and through certified documents.

Liaise with regions, development, finance, solicitors, central health and safety team and the wide trust to ensure full compliance, in addition to heighten the awareness of gas safety.

To work closely with Care and Support and large projects teams to identify collaboration projects and crucial areas for improvement.

To work with the gas manager to develop the contract specifications.

To hold and chair monthly contract meetings.

To ensure all feedback with regards to safety and workmanship are followed through to assign root cause where possible and to improve processes/policies where required.

To ensure key issues are escalated to Gas Compliance Manager for visibility.

To participate in regular team meetings to discuss ways in which the team could improve its relationships and service.

Ensure H&S, regulatory & governance compliance for areas under the job holder's control.

Ensure that H&S requirements are included in all reporting requirements and liaise with CH&S team as required to ensure adequate priority is given to this area of work.

To identify ways to improve our current statutory management processes.

To identify areas in which it is believed the organisation may not be meeting industry best practice standards or possibly legislative requirements.

Manage risks associated with areas under the jobholder's control.

Ensure that effective controls are in place to highlight and limit risk. Contribute to the identification of risks as part of the planning process, ensuring adequate mitigation and control measure are implemented.

To raise any external and internal risks that may result in impacting the organisation.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Gas Operational Manager will have the following:

Leadership and management skills and experience including customer service/values.

Must be organised with high levels of prioritising and planning abilities Experienced contract manager, with experienced of working in a Housing environment.

Excellent communication and organisational skills Excellent understanding of gas service legislation and excellent technical Knowledge of gas equipment and appliances.

Gas Safe Registered would be preferred.

Experience of monitoring a financial budgets and with a good understanding of fraud.

Ability to use the full suite of Microsoft Office.

package including Advanced Excel Qualified to at least HNC and/ or AGSM VRQ level 4 or working toward the award or have relevant experience.

Ability to chair meetings Understanding of contract law and dispute resolution.
