Our client is a market leading logistics business.
Job Description
Reporting in to the Operations Director, the General Manager forms an integral part of the senior leadership team of our client. Based in Kent, you will be responsible for the overall operational, financial and people performance on site, alongside the development and execution of the business plan against customer, financial, internal business process, people and H&S metrics. Key responsibilities will include:
- Oversee a warehouse operation of c250+ heads.
- Own the P&L and make commercial decisions to support high levels of performance.
- Lead, inspire and develop the leadership team on site and promote core values and high performance throughout the operation.
- Ensure quick and smart decision making to ensure commercial and customer needs are met.
- Be able to juggle the needs of a variety of customers within a shared user operation.
- Demonstrate agility in order to manage the ever changing needs of the site and customers.
The Successful Applicant
As the General Manager you will live within a commuting distance of our clients operation in Kent and be able to demonstrate the following experience:
- Previous experience as a site General Manager or site leadership role.
- Closed book contract experience is essential.
- Excellent operational knowledge and understanding of specific customer, systems and procedures.
- Direct experience of P&L management and budget ownership.
- A strategic and continuous improvement approach to operations management.
- Customer facing experience.
- A commercial approach to tackling operational challenges.
- Demonstrable experience in engaging and coaching large teams through direct and indirect reporting lines.
- A track record of successful people development.
- Excellent communication skills.
What's on Offer
A competitive basic salary of £80,000 to £90,000 + a leadership benefits package will be on offer for the successful candidate
