About Our Client
Our client is a public sector organisation within the military & defence arena based out of Birmingham.
In a newly created position for the organisation, you will be directly responsible for designing, implementing and continually improving a health & safety and environmental management system that can be followed by all users of a large national estate of properties. You will need to ensure that the system is both robust and effective.
You'll be a subject matter expert within the field of health & Safety and be able to provide expert advice to a range of users across the estate and this will include advising on day to day activity as well as specific project based activity.
You will be expected to identify all risks across the estate and ensure that these are manged effectively.
As the position is newly created you'll be tasked with designing and implementing new policies and driving forward a positive health & safety culture as well as raising awareness and driving forward initiatives relating to environmental and sustainability policies.
The Successful Applicant
As a minimum applicants will need to hold either a NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety.
We are looking for an individual who is capable of and passionate about implementing and driving change throughout an organisation. This is not a run of the mill health & safety role and applicants will need to have strong influencing and stakeholder management skills to be effective in the position.
Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate up to date knowledge of health & safety regulations as well as an understanding of sustainability policies.
Experience of having worked within the defence sector would be highly advantageous.
The role is based out of Birmingham and will require some office presence in Birmingham as well as national travel and applicants must have a full driving license in order to access the fleet vehicles.
What's on Offer
A salary of £53,500 is on offer and the successful applicant will also receive a 13% pension contribution from the employer and enjoy a true flexible working policy.
