The role is a permanent one, paying £85-110k plus bonus.Job DescriptionPosition Accountabilities, Head of Loan Documentation, Financial Services, City of London:CustomerTo handle lending documentation covering contract and post-contract requirements.To develop and maintain professional relationships with all borrowers, agents and third parties to answer all questions where relevant.Process· To develop and implement lending documentation, security management and banking system administration procedures, methods and work systems.PeopleTo develop and supervise staff handling loan and security documentation and banking system administration.To work with business development department and risk management department to ensure that loan documentation properly reflects the credit approval conditions and the agreed terms with the clients.To work with external legal counsels, borrowers and other lenders in the preparation and negotiation of finance documents, including bilateral and primary/secondary syndication loans covering commercial real estate investments and development, RCF, leveraged finance, aircraft leasing, ESG/sustainability-linked loans, project finance and buy-to-let mortgages etc.Communicate every aspect of the loan documentation and securities function clearly to all stakeholders.· Provide backup for loan documentation and security staff as needed.· Develop departmental goals and objectives, and set individual goals and objectives with staff. Set benchmark for all measurable processes.Supervise staff with fairness and respect, provide training in all aspects of their jobs and offer appropriate feedback.· Manage all communications with other department heads.Compliance & Risk ManagementComply with all applicable regulations, rules, codes, guidelines and standards set by regulators and the Bank, and carry out duties with high integrity; andAdhere to all established risk control guidelines, procedures and measures to identify, assess, report, mitigate and monitor the risks involved in the day-to-day work.Ensure that the firm's strategies, governance, leadership, processes, and people policies (including incentives at all levels) reflect Consumer Duty and Treat Customers Fairly ("TCF") obligations to act to deliver good outcomes for customers.· Participate as a member of the Executive Committee and perform duties as per the respective Terms of Reference. The Successful ApplicantEssential skills of Head of Loan Documentation, Financial Services:Bachelor's Degree or aboveSolid experience in working in banking, ideally retail bank.Solid experience in managing a team of at least 5 people.10 years or above in the legal field or UK based banking experience in drafting lending documentation.At least 8 years' experience on LMA documentation and commercial lending.Familiarity with LMA primary and secondary documentation.Good understanding on market practice in loan documentation and good management and communication skills with internal and external parties.Good understanding of the rules and regulations on lending laid down by the banking authorities.To be assertive and able to deal with ambiguity.Ability to think outside of the box and be flexible in times of high volume.What's on OfferA leading retail bank based in the City of London are recruiting for a LMA specialist who has previously managed a team.
