Job Description
- Lead on the high value, complex Procurement and Sourcing projects - driving cost savings, commercial value from contracts, efficiency's, and improving supplier performance
- Develop and implement new Procurement Strategy for the organisation - driving 'Best in Class' Procurement practice across the organisation
- Effective implementation of Contract Management in order to drive true supplier relationship management and drive best value from existing and new contracts
- Opportunity assessment - where are there opportunities being missed? Where can we drive synergies? Where can we consolidate?
- Winning the hearts and minds of stakeholders, building and influencing relationships and educating the business on Procurement
- Lead and manage a small team
The Successful Applicant
- Depth of Procurement experience ideally with experience of Greenfield or Transformational environments
- Fantastic stakeholder management and soft skills; able to be flexible in approach in order to achieve a positive outcome and ensure maximum engagement
- Experience working on large, complex Procurement projects in a range of indirect categories (ideally in a Public Sector/Not for Profit, or exposure to OJEU reg's)
- Strong understanding of UK and EU procurement legislation
- Excellent commercial acumen
- Strong track record of delivery - i.e. savings or driving value for money
- Degree/MCIPS/Equivalent qualification
