Polypipe Building Products is the UK's leading manufacturer of plastic piping systems and low-carbon heating solutions in the residential market. Part of the Genuit Group plc, the Building Products business designs, develops and manufactures a comprehensive range of products from 4 sites in the Doncaster area. One of Yorkshire's largest manufacturing operations, they employ over 1000 people.

Job Description

Reporting into the Managing Director, the Head of Projects will identify and lead all strategic projects across a multi-site manufacturing operation. You will be part of, and work closely with, the senior leadership team with the accountability for planning, governance and execution across a broad range of transformational projects.

The Head of Projects (PMO) will conduct assessment and challenge the status quo of the existing operation, preparing business cases for improvement led projects of all sizes. You will be responsible for budgets and leading teams from across the organisation to deliver projects on time and in full.

Other responsibility will include:

  • Developing best in class project management systems across the business
  • Supporting the Managing Director and their team to develop a high-performance culture
  • Ensure existing and future project portfolio contribute positively to the wider organisational strategies
  • Provide mentorship at all levels of the business

The Successful Applicant

The successful Head of Projects will be a proven leader with demonstrable experience in delivering strategic projects in large manufacturing environments. They will possess a range of the following:

  • A project management qualification with strong comprehension of project management software and systems
  • Working knowledge of IT infrastructure supporting inventory, production planning and warehouse management
  • Significant manufacturing leadership experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of lean manufacturing and it's implementation
  • A strategic thinker with a data orientated, analytical approach
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation
