Join the medical device manufacturing sector
Help drive the redevelopment of a manufacturing site
About Our Client
A high volume manufacturer of medical devices, they have plants all over the world, and supply products which support the UK population on a daily basis.
Job Description
As the HSE Lead, you'll have ownership for all daily and strategic environmental, health & safety activity within the facility. That's everything from guiding the plant through external audits, through to developing new initiatives and policy to ensure best practice and modern working methods are in place.
Naturally, you'll be working with people at all levels of the business, from apprentices through to the plant manager. You'll use your people-skills to engage with everybody effectively, and obtain their buy-in quickly to ensure progress is swift and adherence is maintained at all times.
You'll also take the lead from a facilities perspective - managing sub contractors on site, making sure they adhere to policies when in the facility, checking credentials and inducting them where required.
The Successful Applicant
You'll be a natural people person, and won't shy away from difficult conversations when appropriate.
You probably have experience within a manufacturing environment, but you don't need a specific medical device or high volume background.
You'll definitely have a NEBOSH general certificate at the very least, alongside ISO14001 internal/lead auditor qualifications. Membership to IEMA or similar would be an advantage.
What's on Offer
You're joining an industry immune to economic shocks, and one which in the past year has helped to support the entire UK population.
But more importantly, you'll be provided with the autonomy to develop new policies and procedures to help shape the daily operation of a high volume manufacturing plant.
