Job Description
The HSE Manager will be based at the site in York and be responsible for:
* Ensure the site operates fully by implementing H&S legislation on sites.
* Ensure a robust permit to work system is in place for all high risk activities.
* In conjunction with the senior leadership team ensure appropriate level of training to meet any statutory requirements (for example first aid, driving qualifications)
* Work at all levels to drive a zero accident culture, where all near misses are reported.
* Own and maintain all HSE policies for the company.
* Undertake internal H&S auditing to maintain a safe working environment and systems.
* Identify and deliver health and safety training needs across the business.
* Develop relationships and promote the EHS agenda across all levels of the business.
* Ensure compliance in relation to all relevant legislation in relation to permits and HSE management systems.
* Support the leadership and front line teams with risk assessments and investigations.
The Successful Applicant
The HSE Manager will have:
* NEBOSH qualified
* Chartered member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health
* First-hand experience of Health and Safety issues in an industrial/manufacturing or engineering environment
* Excellent communicator who influences and collaborates with peers to develop the HSE standards
* Effective change facilitator who thinks innovatively and acts decisively, adapting positively to challenges.
* Results-driven, equally comfortable and experienced at working strategically or operationally to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence
* Role model who demonstrates high standards of ethics & professionalism, aligned to Company Values
* Manufacturing experience in an FMCG or industrial sector
