About Our Client
My client is an established tech business providing software into the financial services industry. Due to continued growth they require an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join them on a permanent basis.
They offer a hybrid working model with 3 days per week on-site and 2 days per week working from home.
Job Description
The successful Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for:
- Providing 3rd line support to the UK userbase, covering all aspects of IT infrastructure
- Working closely with wider infrastructure team across two UK sites to share knowledge
- Supporting the 1st/2nd line teams, providing an escalation point and providing cover for them when needed
- Promoting and adhering to best practice
- Supporting with the onboarding and training of new starters as appropriate
The Successful Applicant
The successful Infrastructure Engineer will possess:
- Strong IT background, including experience in a 3rd line infrastructure focused role
- Fantastic customer service, communication and team collaboration skills
- Experience across a range of on-premise Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, Windows 10/11 hardware, VMware ESXi, Powershell etc.
- Ability to assist with administration of firewall policy and VPN configuration (Fortinet)
- Understanding of LAN/WAN networks and experience of switch management
Any exposure to the following would be a bonus:
- AWS
- Kanban project boards, ideally Jira
- Solid experience of documenting processes, procedures and user guides
