My client are a highly reputable plc distribution business based in the South West.

Job Description

The main responsibilities in this role are:

  • Ownership and responsibility for the accurate preparation of Group financial statements including disclosures that meets the requirements of a plc.
  • Manage the Group financial statement audit process as a key point of contact for the external auditor
  • Preparation of the consolidation and monthly management accounts including Group consolidated income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement
  • Responsible for the formation and application of the Group's accounting policies, preparation of accounting position papers and delivering training to the wider finance team
  • Design, implement and maintain excel models to support impairment reviews, dilapidation calculations, shared based payments and earnings per share calculations and related disclosures
  • Lead and act as the central finance representative on ad-hoc projects (e.g. change in accounting policies, new revenue streams, restructuring, refinancing, systems, processes and controls)
  • Ad-hoc financial reporting as required
  • Ownership of the process underlying the production of the financial consolidation for the Group
  • Technical manager/administrator of the Group consolidation system (HFM)
  • Ensure that the Group consolidation system (HFM) is kept up-to-date, properly maintained and appropriately mapped to the business's ERP systems
  • Responsibility for preparing and posting of consolidation journals into HFM
  • Design, build and maintenance of HFM reports to support the preparation of the Group financial statements and disclosures

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate for this role:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified with experience of working in a similar role
  • A technically strong accountant with experience of IFRS financial reporting for a Group and the disclosure requirements of a publicly listed company
  • Experience using HFM and strong excel skills are a must
  • Confident in dealing with senior colleagues in the organisation
  • Self-starter with ability to work on own initiative and get the job done
  • Proven ability to deliver to deadlines with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with advanced ability to interpret and present findings

What's on Offer

An immediate start is available for the successful candidate and an extremely competitive day rate. There is the expectation for the first day to be onsite to collect IT equipment and go through the company induction, but from this point the role will be fully remote
