Interim Internal Audit Manager

About Our Client
My client is a global banking group that offers a range of financial services. Their offices are based in the City of London.
The Interim Internal Audit Manager:
-Manages and leads entire audit assignment process, including detailed planning of audit assignments, develops audit programs and audit testing, and reporting in accordance with Internal Audit methodology.
-Ensures that audit assignments are focused on key risk areas, and are performed efficiently and within time and expense budgets.
-Supervises / leads / coaches other relevant staff including co-sourced audit staff where applicable.
-Documents audit findings and drafts audit reports, ensuring that audit issues are communicated and resolved as early as possible. Obtains necessary approvals of final reports before issue.
-Immediately reports significant findings which could adversely affect the Bank's assets and/or reputation.
-Holds audit-related meetings with Management.
-Supports Internal Audit Senior Management in managing relationships with the Audit Committee, Senior Management, employees, Group Head Office, and external parties including the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority, EU regulators co-sourced auditors, the bank's external auditors, and the Police.
-Assists Internal Audit Senior Management in establishing the audit universe, risk assessment, and annual audit plan.
-Manages feedback processes and follow-up of reported audit findings.
-Produces analysis of management information.
-Develops effective ongoing relationships with Management.
-Performs ad hoc projects as requested.
-Performs research, e.g. into new audit techniques, and makes recommendations for improvements to IA systems, reporting etc.
-Continually looking to improve the internal audit methodology and processes.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Interim Internal Audit Manager will have:
-A minimum of 8 years internal audit experience within financial services industry.
-Retail Banking, Corporate Banking and Operations audit experience is required.
-Audit experience in Credit, Trade Finance and IT is desirable but not essential.
-Educated to degree level. A recognised accounting, banking, internal audit or other relevant professional qualification.
-Public accounting firm experience is desirable but not essential.
-Strong relationship management and communication skills.
-Strong ability to multi-task between audit assignments and department tasks.
-Ability to read, analyse and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
-Good numeracy and IT skills.
-Strong report-writing skills.
-Strong written and spoken English.
-One or more languages would be desirable, but not essential.
-Motivated to learn and further develop exposure to banking.
