About Our Client

My client is a fast-growing, thriving manufacturing business who are really making their mark within the industry. Due to the continued and sustained growth of their business along with winning some significant new projects, they are looking to recruit an Interim Operations Manager for their Knaresborough facility to join an established manufacturing team and be an integral part of their growth journey.The contract will be an initial 3 month fixed term with a view to a potential permanent position.

Job Description

As the Interim Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing a large production team of circa 250 heads.
  • All health and safety and compliance of the manufacturing side of the business you oversee.
  • Creating and developing KPIs for the production team.
  • Overseeing the planning and scheduling of all associated operational and production works within your unit.
  • Ensuring all key production and operational equipment within your unit is maintained in the correct manner.
  • Supervising the operations of manufacturing personnel to ensure a manufacturing process is within budget and time schedule.
  • Overseeing the hiring, orienting, and training of technical production employees to ensure a competent workforce.
  • Driving through continuous improvement on site and being the lead in new methodologies to aid the operational objectives of the business.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate must be:

  • An experienced operations manager with at least 5 years' management experience within a process driven, manually intensive manufacturing environment.
  • Looking for an interim assignment.
  • A proven operator who has managed large scale production teams in previous relevant operational management positions.
  • Adaptable and flexible, with an ability to manage and lead the continued growth of a large production workforce.
  • Creative and innovative in approach, able to think outside the box and continually provide logical and well thought-out solutions.
  • Degree qualified or relevant management qualifications.
  • Able to manage and oversee significant new projects and always look to take the lead with new initiatives and ideas.
  • An accomplished and inspiring leader with ambitions to continually develop and go beyond their job remit.
  • Experienced within health and safety regulations across a large manufacturing facility and be IOSH/NEBOSH accredited.
