My client is one of the biggest names in fast moving food & drinks. They are recruiting a Interim Privacy Counsel to support on all areas of privacy with a specific emphasis on digital marketing. It is a fantastic opportunity to assist a high performing legal team at a major food brand.
Job Description
The successful Interim Privacy Counsel - 12 months will advise the business on privacy matters:
Provide expert data protection advice, supporting the business. In all matters, advising the business commercially and pragmatically.
Advise key stakeholders on legal issues affecting the business in a commercially savvy way, taking into account the nature of the business, its risk appetite, providing a steer and offering a view
Provide sound legal advice to the business related to privacy matters - with emphasis on supporting the digital & marketing teams with relation to data protection matters.
Advise on new products and campaigns; providing actionable and practical advice to the business on GDPR compliance.- Review & draft DPAs.
- Conduct and advise on data protection impact assessments, legitimate interest assessments and legal assessments relating to international data transfers.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal Interim Privacy Counsel will be a UK qualified solicitor with c5+ years PQE. You will have obtained training at a leading law firm or in-house business.
Other experience relevant:
- expertise in national and European data protection laws and practices and an in-depth understanding of the Data Protection Act 2018, GDPR, Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and Privacy by Design.
- drafting, reviewing and implementing policies & DPAs.
- ability to lead on DPIAs.
- experience of advising on adtech & digital marketing would be an advantage.
- a CIPP/E, CIPM qualification would be advantageous but is not a requirement*PQE is a guideline
