About Our Client

Our client is a private equity-backed manufacturing SME, headquartered in the UK. They have a strong growth trajectory and ambitious plans over the coming years. They sell products into the processing and packaging machinery sector, predominantly across Europe, and need a strong Sales Director to help achieve their goals.

Job Description

The Sales Director will be responsible for the international sales strategy and execution. This company operates as a tier one and aftermarket component supplier into the food processing and packaging machinery sector, selling through distributors and also into OEMs and end users.

In this role, you would be responsible for analysing current customer base and distributor relationships, and developing & enacting a plan to drive higher revenue through distributors (including training/development/incentivisation of existing distributors, plus new distributor acquisition) alongside developing OEM accounts and end user opportunities.

Our client has a strong reputation for quality, and is well-positioned to win new business and significantly grow revenue. You will be the face of the business to international customers: a combination of strategic planning and hands-on, face-to-face customer interaction is key.

Sitting on the company board, you will also work closely with the other directors to achieve the wider business goals.

The Successful Applicant

The right person for this role will have a deep understanding of the food processing and packaging machinery sector, both at an OEM and end user level. Most likely, you are already in a senior Sales role within a processing or packaging machinery OEM - or sell highly-engineered components into them - and have a strong understanding of the food production end user market.

Experience selling into European distributors would be ideal, but end user/OEM customer experience would also be highly valuable.

Location is very flexible - frequent travel to Europe will be required, so being positioned relatively close to an international airport would be an advantage.
