Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • The management of telecommunications, cabling and wireless solutions throughout the business in accordance with defined processes and priorities at agreed service levels. To identify issues, provide and advise suitable solutions and actions.
  • The management of key third party support vendors incorporating datacentre environments, cloud infrastructure, networking, servers, routers, switches, firewalls and infrastructure security. Service components such as firmware, configuration, updates and user provisioning.
  • Escalation and management of issues to 3rd Party vendors ensuring all parties are regularly updated on progress.
  • To manage an in-house team of system administrators, support managers and support co-ordinators.
  • To become a core business systems subject matter expert.
  • To provide support to the companies' desktop solutions and management of active directory, user maintenance processes and Microsoft Office products.
  • Liaising with the Operational Support team as required to facilitate on site systems and support activities.
  • Liaising with the Service Delivery Manager to ensure support processes are adhered to incorporating the use of call logging systems.
  • Managing and maintaining procurement management systems and processes.
  • To assist with the management and record keeping of all IT assets including hardware and software licensing. Installation and configuration of systems applications when necessary and with third parties.
  • To assist other team members in testing, troubleshooting and diagnosing problems.
  • Ensure 'best practice' systems procedures are followed and adhered to.
  • Assist the Business Systems Manager with the co-ordination of activities and strategies within the team and with wider projects across the business and its Divisions.
  • Within a culture of continuous improvement, assist with the development and effective operation of the department by recommending new/different working practices and processes.
  • Assist the Business Systems Team with the planning of systems training courses, training material etc.
  • Assist the Business Systems Team during the integration process of new Profit Centres, mergers and closures.
  • Assist the Business Systems Team during the acquisition process of new companies

The Successful Applicant

Key Experience:

  • Good working knowledge of systems and infrastructure.
  • Commercially aware - minimum 2 years working in a commercial environment.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
  • Excellent customer care skills, ability to communicate effectively to help employees resolve their issues and feel satisfied with the experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional and, confident telephone manner.
  • Experience of working within a high-profile operating environment.
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems - Desirable
