If you join us, you will be joining our mission to be the leading international centre in the care and treatment of people with eye disorders, driven by excellence in research and education.Job DescriptionWe have transformed the Freedom to Speak up service at Moorfields from a voluntary staff service to now be led by an internal independent Guardian, supported by voluntary staff Guardians and a network of champions. We have enhanced the service further through an electronic speaking up system that can be used anonymously. The post holder is accountable to the Chief Executive and line management is achieved through the Chief Nurse and Director of Allied Health Professionals. The Freedom to Speak up service demonstrates excellence in upholding and living the values and staff behaviours within Moorfields.The role will involve working with the executive lead for the service and the executive team on the development and delivery of the Freedom to Speak Up Strategy, ensuring alignment with the Trust's vision on fairness and inclusivity.The Freedom to Speak Up Guardian role will lead on a range of initiatives to achieve:A culture of speaking up throughout the organisation and wider NHSSpeaking up processes that are effective and continuously improvedStaff having the motivation and capability to speak up effectively, managers having the capability to support those who are speaking up, and that all concerns are managed confidentially and rapidlySupporting staff appropriately when they speak upFull divisional management, monitoring and oversight of Freedom to Speak Up concernsFully sighting and engaging of the Board about Freedom to Speak Up matters and issuesAssurance of safety and qualityAgreeing and monitoring service KPIs, and creating improvement plans where needed in response to variation from expected outcomesCollaborative working with the Workforce and OD function to improve staff experience in speaking up.The Successful ApplicantTo be successful in this role, you will need to be a role model for the Trust values and behaviours, have a commitment to creating an open, transparent organisational culture and confidence to provide constructive challenge up to and including to trust board level.You will be able to demonstrate a positive 'can-do' attitude and able to work under pressure.You will value diversity and difference and operate with integrity and opennessAs visibility is integral to this role, you will be committed to being on site 4 days per week across all Moorfields sites.You will also have or be willing to undertake National Guardian's office Freedom to Speak Up Guardian Training.Previous experience in a similar role within the NHS would be desirable. What's on OfferYou will be offered an 8B salary - £66,718 to £76,271 a year incl.
