Job Description
This role will focus on ensuring that the newly redesigned UK legal taxonomy is developed and maintained effectively for UK Lexis+ in collaboration with PSLs across a very broad range of practice areas to meet all customer and product needs. It will require the creation of classification rules to categorise all LexisNexis UK content programmatically and may entail work on UK legal thesauri and dictionaries in support of Search Relevance
The Successful Applicant
- Broad knowledge and understanding across a number of practice areas is essential
- Good collaborative working, negotiating and influencing skills are essential as we work with PSL Lawyers to maintain and develop the taxonomy
- Appreciation of how different customers might browse or filter results via a taxonomy structure and the ability to organise legal information in a consistent, clear and intuitive way are essential
- An aptitude for, and an interest in, devising complex searches to retrieve relevant content as well as the ability to distinguish content that is both really on-point as opposed to being subtly off-point is essential.
- Good technical ability and an aptitude for learning several proprietary taxonomy management and classification systems are highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail, knowledge of LexisNexis UK legal content and a sensitivity to the nuances of language are highly desirable - knowledge of LexisNexis UK legal content is a must
- Either qualification as a solicitor or barrister in England & Wales or a professional qualification in Librarianship with substantial law library experience is essential
- Knowledge and experience of Agile working methodologies are desirable
