Job Description

  • Develop and implement strategic financial plans.
  • Provide expert financial advice to senior management.
  • Oversee the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Monitor financial performance and report on variances.
  • Manage and mentor members of the finance team.
  • Participate in the development of financial policies and procedures.
  • Support the continuous improvement of financial management processes.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Principal Accountant should have:

  • Local Government experience
  • Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Excellent knowledge of financial management principles and best practices.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
