This is an exciting opportunity for an experience Assistant Management Accountant to step up in to a role of responsibility or an experienced Management Accountant to move in to a well-established business to support the Finance department within the retail industry. The role is based in Reading and focuses on delivering high-quality financial reporting and analysis to enhance decision-making processes.

Job Description

The Management Accountant duties will include:

  • Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts with accuracy.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of balance sheets and bank accounts.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic planning.
  • Provide detailed financial reports and insights to key stakeholders.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure financial stability.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance financial controls and processes.
  • Support the year-end audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Respond to financial queries and provide advice to department heads.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Management Accountant should have the following skills/qualities:

  • Part-qualified in either ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in an Assistant Management Accountant or Management Accountant position.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in preparing management accounts and financial reports.
  • The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
