Job Description

  • Supporting the Operations MI and Reporting Manager to ensure all data requests are serviced and that the data within them is accurate.
  • Using SQL to extract and manipulate data from HL systems.
  • Ensuring that all activity is appropriately documented to allow peer review and reproducibility.
  • Working with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the process meets the agreed business timeframes.
  • Interpreting any anomalies in data from accuracy checks and take appropriate action to prevent issues from occurring in the future.
  • Supporting wider activity in the Operations Oversight team as required.
  • Dashboard and report designing for Operations and wider HL functions

The Successful Applicant

The Most Important Skill - SQL

  • Strong Excel skills (advanced formulae, pivot tables)
  • High level of numeracy
  • Excel VBA
  • Database structure and relationship knowledge
  • Experience in working across departments, drawing on knowledge and experience from around the business to deliver an objective
  • Strong organisation skills
  • Uses analysis and insight to drive change
  • Knowledge of report creation and use of systems

  • Reporting and presentation skills

  • Master's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of R or Python
  • Experience of programming in any language will be an advantage
  • Oracle and Broker focus knowledge
  • Power BI use
  • Experience setting and critically assessing KPIs and other performance metrics
  • Experience creating reports or dashboards, or otherwise presenting complex data in an accessible way
  • Willingness to learn and develop knowledge and skills
  • Can utilise good relationships within the business to achieve results
  • Understanding of how data can be used to improve decision-making
