We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing and Strategic Operations Director with the ability to effectively manage the Engineering & Manufacturing department within the FMCG industry for our client in Waterford. The successful candidate should possess the strategic acumen to drive manufacturing processes, coupled with a strong ability to influence key decisions within the organisation.

Job Description

Key responsibilties:

  • Facilitate, develop and execute: A 3-5 yearrollingE2E strategy that should include the following:
    • Definition and prioritization of critical business needs by leveraging the opportunities and loss matrix.
  • A reservoir of improvement opportunities to close the gap between the current state and the vision.
    • Roadmap of goals that includes KPIs and KAIs which allow measurement of progress against long-term strategic goals.
  • Continuous ImprovementDriveHAPs as a system to deliver sustained business performance deploying different elements:
    • CI C.ulture and Capabilities
    • Visual Performance Management
    • Focused Improvement:
    • Value Stream Mapping (VSM):
    • Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
    • Equipment Performance Improvement: Collaboratives with different functions to deploy
    • Performance & governance
    • Financial Benefit
  • Lead the critical business projects governance at site via PMO clearly linked to site strategy and KPIs.
  • Create and implement appropriate change management (including communication) plans applying the Framework and supporting toolkit that maximize employee engagement and manage natural organisational resistance to support change initiatives.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Manufacturing and Strategic Operations Director should have:

  • A degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field OR significant work experience in this field
  • Lean /Six Sigma
  • Process Improvement and Strong Business Acumen.
  • E2E understanding with strong financial knowledge.
  • Proven leadership and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of the retail industry.
  • Ability to manage a large team and foster a positive work environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
