Job Description
Main Duties:
- To analyse he current supply chain base and come up with strategic supply chain plan based on commodities or manufacturing process
- Source new suppliers
- Audit suppliers together with the supplier quality engineer team and provide report from commercial views
- Understand requirements of products/ projects, come up with tender plans and run tenders
- Understand and build shadow costing, analyse the product costing structure and cost drivers
- Negotiate best cost terms & conditions with suppliers
- Tactical purchasing duties - vendor set up, raising orders, making sure invoices are paid, parts are delivered in time on full for new projects
- Work with warehouse team
- Main link between Design manufacturing engineering, supplier quality and the supply chain teas.
- Track costs for new projects
- Other duties that may be deemed necessary by the line manager
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate must have a range of the following;
- Background in a Engineering/Manufacturing environment
- Previous eperience buying electronic conponents
- Understanding of engineering drawings
- Understanding of manufacturing process of plastic moulding parts and metals
- Keen attention to details
- Numerical skills are an absolute must
- Work as part of a cross functional team as well as on your own initiative
- Must have a "hands on" approach and a can-do attitude
- 2-3 years' purchasing work experience in manufacturing environment
CIPS qualification desirable
