Our client are a leading International Bank who operate in three main areas: wealth management, corporate banking and treasury. They have recently launched a new digital bank.

Job Description

The Operational Risk Manager - Digital Banking will have the following responsibilities:

  • Implementing and enhancing the operational risk framework for Digital banking
  • Oversight, challenge, recommend and implement improvements to managing risk and controls across Digital banking activities
  • Develop and support the control assurance activities to ensure a robust control environment
  • Develop and maintain operational risk management related policies and guidelines
  • Engage with the business with regard to risk related matters
  • Assist the business in the process of capturing, assessing, reporting and escalation of risk events
  • Embedding the key operational risk tools within the business o Identify, develop and monitor key risk indicators for subsequent risk trend analysis
  • Conduct operation risk investigation, cause analysis and remediation o Lead the production of operational risk reporting for Digital banking
  • Take a lead role in the Digital risk forum
  • Analyse identified trends in the key operational risk indicators, identify and carry out emerging risk workshops o Design and deliver risk management training to internal teams
  • Support and advise on business continuity plan and operational resilience
  • Produce control reports and MI for the senior committee

The Successful Applicant

The Operational Risk Manager- Digital Banking should have the following skills:

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in operational risk management within a financial services environment
  • Experience in a Digital bank or Technology function
  • High degree of personal initiative, persuasion and presence
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to write clear risk reports
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to discuss complex issues at a senior level
  • Familiarity with the supervisory environment (FCA/PRA)
  • Excellent IT skills, in particular MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel
