We manufacture high quality precision metal tubes for demanding engineering applications in Aerospace, Oil and Gas, Nuclear and Power, Chemical Process, Medical and High Purity and High-Performance industriesJob DescriptionAerospace is the key growth market for the Business and this role is critical to the future success of the Business.This role is to interface directly with Customers (independently or together with the Sales team), Operations, Planning, QA and Technical at an in depth technical level. You will be tasked with improving shop floor aerospace manufacturing activities & product quality with a focus on key client applications in various grades of Titanium, 21-6-9 and other Stainless Steel tube applications.The successful candidate will need to have an exceptional understanding of our manufacturing process and the customer's process and applications. You will then make the required changes to production routes and processes and tube manufacturing methods to ensure that we meet the customers and internal specifications.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:Delivering improvements: reducing losses, improving yields, reducing costs, improving processes and compliance.Analysing manufacturing difficulties, product yields & costs.Reviewing and modifying existing processes in a controlled and methodical manner, using improvement tools and practices to ensure any changes are effective and sustainable.Working as part of a cross-functional team to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.Achieve and maintain the highest levels of product qualityThe key deliverables within this role will be reliable and permanent solutions that improve process control, product yields and reduce cost through a robust analytical process which conform to all internal and external compliance requirements.The Successful ApplicantYou will need to be degree educated within an Engineering or Science related discipline or qualified by experience.The successful candidate will need a metallurgical background ideally gained within the Aerospace or similar manufacturing or engineering environment with a proven background of undertaking client facing projects.You will need a thorough understanding of technical specifications and compliance requirements as well as a good working knowledge of Thermo-Mechanical properties.To succeed in this role you will need an analytical mind and be capable of solving complex manufacturing challenges including route cause analysis investigations, with a structured approach to tasks and project management.Six Sigma Blackbelt or similar qualification would an advantage.What's on OfferThis is an excellent opportunity to join a global manufacturing business who are heavily investing in their Aerospace division with this newly created role.
