Job Description
The Procurement and Contracts Manager will work alongside thee Senior Manager, Asset Management and Engineering Teams. Providing Procurement for Major Component refurbishments whilst optimising the repair costs, mean time to repair, and supply chain logistics. Responsible for negotiating agreements to support the operational business including agreements aligned to key projects to improve the operational performance and/or commercial value.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Senior Management in the negotiation of contracts including O&M & PPA
- Negotiate the procurement of Major Components and sub-components
- Ensure the efficient deployment of Framework Agreements for the portfolio, help co-ordinate activities with the Asset Management and Engineering teams to ensure an effective supply of parts
- Provide commercial and contractual support to the Asset Management Team
- Work with the broader Operations team, identify potential areas of Single Point of Failure, presenting recommendations on areas of improvement to reduce the risk profile
- Support accurate forecasting of O&M costs
- Manage the inventory levels, looking to optimise both supply of parts, including managing the risk of obsolescence
- Review operational spend outside of the main O&M contracts and identify areas for potential improvement for procurement of services
- Provide commercial and contractual support to the Asset Management Team
- Develop and grow relationships with key external suppliers to support operational performance.
- Support the procurement of other key purchases, working with the functional teams to ensure the efficient procurement of key items
- Support insurance claims, ensuring correct notification of insurers for potential claims, co-ordination of information to support the claim and timely resolution.
The Successful Applicant
For this role you should ideally be Degree Qualified in addition to holding a relevant professional qualification. (e.g. CIPS). You must have experience of working with the operational side of a business alongside an Asset Management team to deliver improved contracts in a large scale infrastructure projects. In addition you will demonstrate broad commercial understanding, have strong financial skills with the ability to analyse different contract structures, model fixed and variable costs and understand the impact on the owner's working Capital through different commercial solution.
