About Our Client
Michael Page are retained with one of our major clients who are based in the Hull, Scunthorpe, Doncaster region are we are aiming to find the most suitable procurement candidate for this indirect procurement CAPEX Buyer role.
You will need 5yrs experience at lease and you will be working for a large international industrial manufacturing organisation in a challenging and complex role.
In this CAPEX Buyer position you will provide a cost effective and value added procurement service to the business, and you will manage commercial relationships.
You will need to provide appropriate support to the relevant procurement teams in order to assist in the delivery of saving initiatives and Capital Spend targets across multiple projects.
As Capital Buyer you will be working closely with an established procurement team and you will be expected to develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders in order to gain an understanding of requirements to improve the service provided.
You will liaise with other relevant departments and plant personnel to identify needs and agree specifications to achieve maximum value and efficiency, and you will manage supplier relationships across the capital spend function in a professional and effective manner.
The successful CAPEX Buyer will be expected to negotiate and manage framework agreements to make commitments in line with established procedures, so any experience in the public sector with NEC3/NEC4 would be an added benefit to the business.
You will develop sourcing strategies for each capital project, utilising & interpreting information to determine the most appropriate approach, and you will engage suppliers and invitations to submit proposals and tenders against formal Request for Proposals. You will then control the tendering process in accordance with the established procedures, relevant legislation, and company standards.
Determine the best process and help develop new and innovative procurement techniques and e-sourcing functions.
The Successful Applicant
5yrs+ expereinces - required
Experience as a procurement professional or within a commercial role
Commercial awareness and excellent interpersonal skills: negotiation, influencing, facilitation skills
Proven ability to analyse, interpret and act upon large amounts of information, with a keen attention to detail
Numerical ability, in particular able to understand, analyse and interpret financial information
Confident, pro-active attitude, with the ability to influence key stakeholders
Computer literate with practical experience of SAP
Project management skills
A team player, with a flexible approach to work
Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent and preferably a member of CIPS.
Knowledge of NEC3 contracts or similar - desirable and an added benefit
Experience managing multiple internal stakeholders
