Their properties include hospitals, GP practices and offices ranging from listed building to new integrated care centres.

Job Description

The key responsibilities for the Procurement Category Specialist include:

  • Utilising the procurement systems to support the delivery of the procurement processes
  • Developing relationships with stakeholders and suppliers as required to support the procurement process
  • Support the development of category plans to generate efficient savings
  • Working simultaneously alongside Procurement Manager's to deliver end-to-end assigned procurement projects
  • Delivering and identifying saving initiatives across areas of project responsibility

The Successful Applicant

The successful Procurement Category Specialist will:

  • Have excellent understanding Public Contract Regulations 2015
  • Have understanding of the Public Sector frameworks
  • Have experience of developing positive relationships with stakeholders
  • The ability to negotiate with internal and external customers
  • End-to-end knowledge of the best practice procurement processes
  • The ability to draft well revised Category Strategies using market intelligence
  • Relevant experience currently working within a Public Sector procurement department
