The client is a leading public sector organisation that are involved in security and policing across the country, looking after secure locations of national strategic importance.

Job Description

  • Management of end to end tenders compliantly (including of scoping business cases, production of evaluation schemes, evaluating tender returns and award of contracts)
  • Oversee work of others within procurement department
  • Ensure non-pay/salary related spend satisfies the government's requirement of Value-for-Money
  • Take responsibility for delivering of strategic organisation projects
  • Provide support to project managers on the contract/procurement aspects of projects
  • Develop organisation's commercial terms and conditions, policies and working practices
  • Enforcement of organisation's commercial terms with external contractors
  • Take ownership of risks associated with procurement and work proactively to identify risk and ensure that they are managed within the organisation's risk management framework

The Successful Applicant

  • MCIPS qualified
  • Experience of commercial and public sector procurement
  • Experience and understanding of the procurement of goods and services
  • Experience of developing successful strategies providing professional guidance to organisations and stakeholders
  • Experience of successfully negotiating and managing contracts, with a working knowledge of contract law
  • Experience managing modern contract forms under EU procurement legislation and regulations
  • Ability to work unsupervised with self-motivation
  • Monitor and review service level and framework agreements
  • Prepare and produce necessary supporting documentation appertaining to contracts, service-level agreements and framework documentation
  • Balance competing work pressures and projects
  • Flexible attitude to changing priorities and requirements
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
