You must specifically have covered card schemes in the form of MasterCard or Visa, or at the very least bank accounts with debit cards. You will be familiar with FCA rules and regulations regards payments generally, merchants, card payments.

My client is a Fintech based in the City of London location wise. They are payment solutions business who require an experienced Product Manager, specifically Cards, Merchant and all related jurisdictions from the FCA and beyond.

Job Description

Product Manager - Merchant Operations, City of London:

  1. Serve as the primary point of contact for merchant inquiries and concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  2. Gather and analyse merchant feedback to identify pain points, opportunities for improvement, and new feature requests.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, design, and customer support, to prioritize and implement enhancements or solutions to address merchant needs.
  4. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the product and its capabilities, as well as the merchant ecosystem and industry trends.
  5. Create and maintain documentation, including FAQs and knowledge base articles, to provide self-service resources for merchants and reduce support inquiries.
  6. Conduct user research and usability testing to gain insights into merchant behaviour, preferences, and pain points, and use those insights to inform product decisions.
  7. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop materials and training programs that highlight the product's value proposition and address common merchant inquiries.
  8. Monitor and analyse merchant support metrics, such as response times and customer satisfaction scores, to identify opportunities for process improvements and optimize the support experience.
  9. Stay informed about competitor products and offerings, and provide recommendations for product differentiation and competitive advantage in response to merchant inquiries.
  10. Continuously monitor and evaluate merchant feedback channels, such as support tickets, community forums, and social media, to proactively identify emerging trends or issues that require attention.

The Successful Applicant

You must specifically have covered card schemes in the form of Mastercard or Visa, or at the very least bank accounts with debit cards. You will be familiar with FCA rules and regulations regards payments, merchants, card payments. Please do not apply if you so not have this on your CV. Previous Experience, Product Manager - Merchant Operations, City of London:

  1. Must have proven financial services industry knowledge of Card Schemes and relevant FCA rules
  2. In depth knowledge of payment service regulations for the UK and Europe, specifically Spain, Italy and France
  3. This may be present in the form of Mastercard and Visa, OR, current accounts that have debit cards, or other forms of credit card
  4. Be able to work in a similar capacity to a Client Service specialist on the Product offering solutions for internal and external counterparties within governance parameters
  5. Proven ability of working within an entrepreneurial environment ideally a FinTech, that has many projects running at a given time
  6. Ability to work alone if necessary, be an SME in this area, and provide answers to MRLO and COO, and Group COO in accordance with FCA Rules and Card Scheme jurisdiction

There's lots of progression opportunity with the role and lots of visibility to C Suite personnel.Salary wise is completely dependent on experience, with those at the lower end of the experience range being offered £65k, and those with many years and a diverse set of skills beyond those listed in the spec being paid up to £90k+ base.
