We are looking for a Product Owner aligned to Software Development who will work within the Business Solutions Team and provide the link between process modelling and the appropriate development squad when a software solution is identified as part of the process modelling. The development squads are responsible for several in-house developed applications and commercial package configurations in cases where an external solution is required. You will be part of the core System and Development team whose mission it is to build robust and scalable applications that enable the business to achieve key strategic objectives.
Within the squad you will be working closely with Stakeholders, Business Analysts, Developers and QA Engineers to understand business requirements and act as the advocate for the "customer". You will apply your technical and business knowledge and experience to help translate and document the business requirements as user stories and scenarios in the form of features. You will work with Senior stakeholders to understand the wider picture and be able to define priorities for epics and features that flow into the development squad. You will be expected to understand where complex or cross-functional impacts arise and liaise with the process team to understand dependencies.
The Successful Applicant
You will have experience of working within an Agile framework, ideally in Scrum or Kanban and have in depth knowledge and experience of Product Ownership and Business Analysis.
Additional requirements include:
Excellent communication skills and experience of stakeholder management
Experience of software delivery on large, complex, enterprise-scale platforms
Track record of successful delivery as a Product Owner in a Software development environment
Experience in various business analysis techniques
In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies and disciplines
Experience in technical analysis a significant advantage - including data modelling
Experience working collaboratively in a cross functional team
Attention to detail and ability to appropriately challenge vague statements
Extremely well organised with strong time-management skills
Bachelor's degree in IT, science or analytical discipline, or related field/equivalent work experience
Any experience using modern software development delivery tools such as Jira and Confluence would be a bonus!
