Job Description

  • Source and procure materials and components for industrial and manufacturing projects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to improve value for the business.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand and fulfil material requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues impacting project timelines or budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and industry regulations.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within the supply chain.
  • Manage inventory levels to prevent overstocking or shortages.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Project Buyer should have:

  • Previous experience in procurement or supply chain within the industrial engineering or manufacturing sector.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement systems and tools.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific materials and components.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and cost optimisation.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to read technical drawings is desirable.
