This Methyr Tydfil based client are a manufacturer of bespoke equipment, and supply into a diverse range of industries including Oil and Gas, aviation, steel and more. They are going from strength to strength, currently turning over £1.5 million a year.

Job Description

  • Quotations: In the quotation phase of a project the Project Engineer will support the Technical Sales Manager, both technical and commercial / administrative.
  • Interpreting customer's drawings. - Requesting prices from suppliers / subcontractors for order related items. - Creating Items, Bill of Materials and (draft) quotations in SAP. - Preparing a draft cost price calculation.
  • Sales Orders: After receipt of customer's purchase order the Project Engineer will make all necessary pre- and post-production arrangements. This includes: - Sales orders for all relevant order related items and moulds. - Follow-up deliveries of the outsourced items. - Creating (draft) sales order in SAP (as far as necessary for purchasing items) - Transfer of all relevant information to the Back office to finalise production order.
  • Drawings: It can be required for the Project Engineer to make drawings for a sales project.
  • Supplier contact: Project Engineer is responsible for the contact with existing and looking for new suppliers and subcontractors regarding sales order related items. Furthermore the Project Engineer will make sure that all items can be procured at best possible price.
  • Projects: In case a sales order is considered as a project instead of a regular order, the Project Engineer will assist the Technical Sales Manager with the project management.

The Successful Applicant

  • Education: BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Specific knowledge: Thorough technical knowledge and skills
  • 3D drawing in SolidWorks.
  • Able and willing to learn about PU materials and properties.
  • Able and willing to learn to working with SAP.
  • Personality: Well-structured approach with good planning and organising skills.
  • Taking initiative and being able to work self-supporting.
  • Good communication skills.
