This leading UK business has a reputation for quality and is an expert in the development of customised equipment.

Job Description

The Purchasing Manager, will provide leadership and practical expertise within the company's procurement team in order to balance stock levels and negotiate cost reductions.

  • Contract negotiation and Supplier management
  • Improve purchasing policies, procedures and best practices
  • Manage the supply chain to ensure timely delivery of all required materials
  • Identify and source new suppliers and vendors
  • Develop, negotiate and administer purchasing agreements and contracts with suppliers in support of organisational requirements
  • Work with relevant departments to manage inventory requirements with the use of ERP/MRP
  • Working with management to develop and implement cost savings plans and be accountable for meeting agreed budget objectives

The Successful Applicant

Successful candidates will have at least 5 year's experience in purchasing/materials management, along with previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.

You will also have:

  • Experience of using an MRP system
  • Ability to identify new potential suppliers and manage key supplier partnerships
  • Performance management and strong analytical skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, with good presentation and IT skills including the proficient use of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience of leading a team
