Job Description

As the Quality Manager, you will be a crucial member of the management team as you roll out long term quality improvements. This is an interactive role, working with other departments to instil a culture of quality across the whole organisation.Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team that ensure the quality, food safety & hygiene standards are maintained & promoted across site.
  • Work closely with other departments to create training and development initiatives to support continuous improvement and develop teams.
  • Provide guidance, advice and/or training to improve business understanding of related food laws & regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure effective HACCP systems are in operation, supporting the Technical Manager in the implementation of HACCP systems, ensuring adequate training is organised to implement HACCP & create necessary level of awareness amongst relevant staff and to co-ordinate HACCP teams.
  • Ensure effective TACCP / site security programmes are in place, ensuring adequate training is in place & regularly review these systems at site.
  • To co-ordinate, respond & investigate customer complaints to root cause.
  • Periodically review the quality compliance site plans in light of changes or updates. Guide site teams to meet these requirements & to provide strategic direction to the leadership team on all compliance aspects.
  • Develop & maintain an audit program & coordinate efforts related to audits, reviews & examinations.
  • Ensure the site is maintained at the required standards to meet regulatory, customer, BRC & other audit requirements.
  • Liaise with external service providers for relevant information identifying best practice opportunities.
  • Ensuring requirements of legislation, BRC & customers critical paths are followed, all deadlines met & supplier adhesion to path in line with requirements.

The Successful Applicant

This a great role for a food Quality specialist who is passionate about driving improvement. The successful applicant will also have:

  • Ideally a degree/HND or HNC in a relevant discipline
  • Level 4 Food Safety
  • Level 4 HACCP
  • Understanding of continuous/quality improvement
  • Some auditing capability would be advantageous
  • Thorough knowledge of BRC
  • Ability to train/coach/develop people
