Job Description

Key Responsibilities for the Regional Account Manager:

  • Grow uptake of products and services, meet and exceed sales targets defined in the operational plans - targets to be measured by agreed metrics such as revenue/growth over time. Arrange centre visits/contact for new and existing customers in line with the Customer Engagement Strategy.
  • Actively seek new business opportunities supporting the operational plan and develop an understanding of the issues that influence customers' choice of awarding body. Ensure that presentations to customers are meaningful and valuable to the customer. Monitor customer preference to determine the focus of sales efforts. Refer leads, as appropriate, to BD colleagues.
  • Support the development of market/customer intelligence for a given area and develop and maintain a deep and commercial view of this area/region. This will involve collating/analysing information with a clear articulation of size, growth rates, change drivers as well as collecting competitor intelligence and building a strong knowledge of funding, policy and government influences.
  • Manage and develop relationships with new customers aiming for customer delight and account manage existing customers ensuring that service provided is in line with agreed service levels to customers. Have a good working knowledge of approval process e.g. fast-track recognition process and procedures for handover to relevant team for progressing approval application.
  • Manage national/key customer accounts and lead on key product lines. Share expertise and liaise effectively with colleagues within the MIS, Business Development and Marketing teams and ensure that leads and customer interaction is captured on the CRM database.
  • Actively seek opportunities to promote products and services with influencers and intermediaries
  • Contribute to the development of events, stakeholder engagement and sponsorship plans and provide support to events when required
  • Provide timely and accurate management reports with regard to your team's operational plan in line with agreed metrics.
  • Be the 'voice of the customer', identifying and ensuring resolution of their issues. Liaise effectively with colleagues in Operations through agreed channels
  • Reporting to the National Manager, work closely with team members to ensure effective development and implementation of the business development plan for the given area. Develop and maintain effective, collaborative working relationships with colleagues.
  • Work within the team's budget and other resource commitments.
  • Contribute towards the organisation's continuous improvement initiatives and ensure personal compliance with documented processes.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Regional Account Manager:

  • Be able to operate business systems at the appropriate level for this role.
  • Be able to understand and carry out complex numerical and or financial calculations and analyse data at the appropriate level for this role
  • The post holder must have a proven track record of business development including achieving/exceeding sales targets and should be a motivated individual committed to growing business to the benefit of our client and its customers.
  • The post holder should be using market research/market analysis to grow business.
  • The post holder requires dimensions of business management and self management.
  • The post holder should have previous experience of working in customer facing roles and achieving high satisfaction levels.
  • It is essential for the post holder to be an excellent communicator with a proven track record in effective communication. The post requires communication of all types and all levels within our client and external to the organisation. Highly effective interpersonal skills are essential.
