Job Description
Maintaining and monitoring sector specific risk management systems, seeking ways in which these might be improved and making recommendations to the Programme Director. Developing appropriate mitigating actions and processes covering multiple scenarios and agreeing these with the Programme Director
Ensuring Business Continuity throughout the programme with a defined structure in place. · T
translating the overall contract and business performance objectives into local area and group performance targets. Ensuring that all management and staff understand and commit to these
Monitoring business performance against agreed local area and group performance targets, using both generic company performance management systems and methods they or their management team develop within the contract portfolio where these would add value.
Identifying ways in which generic performance management data might be enhanced to better inform local and potentially national operational performance. Communicating these ideas to the Programme Director, appropriate support services and board members, as appropriate. ·
Ensuring that the company's business complies with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and best practise.
Building and maintaining an effective management team, ensuring that individuals are deployed according to their specific talents. · Applying the company's generic performance management processes in a fair, consistent and transparent way, inspiring trust and faith in management and the company, ·
Reviewing the performance of direct reports both formally and on a day-to-day basis, tackling any unsatisfactory performance issues openly, honestly, tactfully and in a timely manner and recognising effective performance in a similarly timely fashion.
The Successful Applicant
Key Requirements: ·
Hold a degree/relevant qualification & a minimum of 2 A-levels or equivalent Level 3 Diploma. ·
Significant experience (at least 2 years) of working at a senior management level & of forming & leading effective operational management teams. ·
Demonstrable success in the operational management of fast-paced, P&L-driven, multi-site operations, including ability to determine required resources to achieve contractual KPIs. ·
Demonstrable success in people development & performance management. · A sound understanding of financial, contractual & risk management methods. ·
Demonstrable success in implementing cost control programmes & implementing rapid change in response to changes in market conditions and/or revised strategy. ·
Evidence of developing & recommending effective business improvement initiatives. · Evidence of effectively contributing to the future shape of a service or business. ·
Evidence of engaging with & influencing multiple stakeholders. ·
Strong interpersonal competencies, including inspirational leadership, people focus & persuasive communication. ·
Evidence of establishing & maintaining strong, co-operative working relationships with senior management of supply chain partners to achieve performance targets, share best practice & work collaboratively to achieve mutual success.
