Michael Page Logistics have exclusively partnered with an exciting new client who are a Leading European 3PL business, supporting their search for a Regional General Manager, operating across 3 of their sites in the UK across the Midlands & Home Counties region.

They are an easily recognisable, innovative, and growing company, attracting various blue-chip clients along the way. This role will give the successful candidate a chance to truly flourish with a challenging, demanding, but rewarding group of sites that play a huge part in their UK and European distribution network.

Job Description

The Regional General Manager role will require the individual to:

  • Report to the UK Operations Director.
  • Direct reports of 3 x General Managers, along with an indirect headcount of over 350+ heads consisting of; Operations Managers, Operations Support Managers, Stock & Inventory Managers, Shift Managers, Team Leaders and Operatives.
  • Be responsible for multiple sites in their entirety including customer management, employee engagement, P&L / Costs and Continuous Improvement strategies.
  • Overall responsibility for process design and daily delivery for inbound, pick and outbound operations through the team.
  • Have full control of the operating budget of £50M+
  • Be responsible for effective inventory controls, ensuring the customer portfolios are maintained within key SLA guidelines.
  • Accountable for medium term succession planning across your sites, including the ability to scale up your region quickly to support continued business growth.
  • Commutable to Milton Keynes, Midlands & Home Counties region.



This role would suit a candidate that has worked in a; Site Manager, General Manager, Regional General Manager, Head of Logistics or Operations Director role previously.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate for the Regional General Manager role will have the following skills and experiences:

  • A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background.
  • Be Degree educated (or similar) - Advantageous.
  • Managed Multiple sites previously - Advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5+ years Logistics experience at a Site Manager or General Manager level previously - Essential.
  • Have worked for a 3PL previously - Essential.
  • Have managed in excess of 300+ employees previously - Essential.
  • IOSH and NEBOSH qualifications - Advantageous
  • Have experience of Six Sigma / Prince2 methodologies - Advantageous.
  • Have been personally responsible for the creation and management of budgets of up to £40M+ per year - Essential.
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills ranging from Executive levels to shop floor Operatives.
  • Be results driven and commercially minded.
  • Be commutable to Milton Keynes, Midlands, Home Counties.
