Job Description

  • Developing and delivering portfolio and sourcing strategies
  • Profiling supply chain through supplier research and market trends to assess future contract risks and opportunities
  • Driving value by effectively delivering tender events for services, works and/or products, in order to meet needs
  • Leading engagement of stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Proactively manages contracts within their portfolio, ensuring contract issues are resolved effectively
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with sourcing and contract management frameworks
  • Building and maintaining effective supplier relationships
  • Developing supply chains to meet support outcomes
  • Resolving contract performance issues and puts in place plans to resolve
  • Scoping and developing contractual agreements to meet needs
  • Leading supplier relationship management and contract relationship management activities
  • Supporting the implementation of procurement and contract management change initiatives
  • Monitoring supplier service level and cost performance through KPIs
  • Analysing and forecasting inventory levels and manages stock obsolescence, where appropriate
  • Providing cost and commercial control across activities
  • Ensuring contract payments and claims are within contract terms
  • Undertaking benchmarking to ensure arrangements and Contractor costs remain competitive
  • Ensuring that the terms and conditions on which contracts are awarded are in line with risk profile and legal framework

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience of strategic sourcing and other procurement activities
  • Experience in sourcing and managing different forms of contracts / framework agreements
  • Experience in contract managing a portfolio of suppliers
  • Experience in leading supplier meetings
  • A good understanding of contract drafting principles and experience in contract development, including the ability to make recommendations / amendments
  • Demonstrable experience in leading negotiations with suppliers
  • An understanding of EU and Utility Procurement Directives ideally supported by evidence of running a competitive compliant tender process
  • Able to build effective relationships both internally and/or with external organisations
