Job Description

The successful Purchasing Manager will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that supplier agreements are in place for all key suppliers
  • Driving supplier performance through cost reduction. OTD, quality etc.
  • Developing and implementing the purchasing strategy for the business
  • Inventory management in conjunction with other key business stakeholders
  • Managing a team of buyers
  • Maintaining sufficient stock and inventory levels for production
  • Maintaining relationships and negotiate contracts / prices with suppliers
  • Leading purchasing strategies with the aim of reducing variable and overhead costs for the business
  • Forecasting price and market trends

The Successful Applicant

The successful purchasing manager will:

  • Have prior experience within a similar role within a manufacturing environment
  • Have excellent negotiation skills
  • Be able to work under pressure in a fast paced and demanding environment with multiple on-going short/long term tasks
  • Be a strong leader and people manager to grow and develop a team of individuals
