Job Description
I am currently recruiting for a Senior Public Affairs Manager UK&I with one of the biggest technology and entertainment companies. You will:
- Lead the public affairs outreach, planning and activities and policy analysis in the UK and Ireland
- Formulate advocacy plans and engagement strategies to drive positive results, and monitor progress
- Manage complexity and provide insights and understanding of domestic and larger geopolitical positions and business-relevant policy issues to effectively solve problems and amplify opportunities
- Work collaboratively within the Global Public Affairs team (including Comms), Global Research Institute and the Legal and Business units to ensure alignment with Tencent's short and longer-term goals and objectives
- Support the business strategically in other areas that go beyond purely public affairs
- Closely work with and engage industry partners, trade associations, events/sponsorship opportunities and other organisations to raise the company's profile, support the business and common industry positions
- Have a relevant and strong network of political and governmental stakeholders
- Whilst the focus will be UK & Ireland, also support the Global Public Affairs team in other markets in the EMEA region
The Successful Applicant
You will have:
- At least 8 years of experience in public affairs, advocacy, international relations and/or consultancy
- Ability to take ownership for delivering projects with a high degree of autonomy and manage multiple, highly complex projects simultaneously
- Collaborative and able to work well both as part of a team and independently in a global, multi-cultural and virtual environment
- Represent the company in external fora
- Understanding of domestic politics, as well as broader geopolitical issues, trends and drivers
- A grip on key policy areas, including across one or more of the following: technology (AI, cloud), digital content/entertainment, intellectual property, platform regulation, data privacy & security, and international trade
- Have business acumen and personality to work with and advise senior business leaders
- Experience working for and/or with large, international companies is a plus
What's on Offer
£80,000 - £130,000 PA DOE plus bonus and benefits
