About Our Client

This business have built their reputation on solving problems that others wouldn't consider solvable. Blending state of the art equipment, centring around 3D scanning, with an outstanding team of engineers, technicians and commercial employees our client have in fact grown their customer base during COVID and have a strategic growth plan which see's their staffing and turnover levels double in the next 18 months.
Their data capture division which provides highly precise measurement and technical reports for clients as a service is their most profitable venture and is now in need for a senior mechanical engineer to take control of their measurement and scanning operations.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will work closely with the Operations Manager and MD to deliver bespoke packages of work for clients based across the globe and who span every sector imaginable.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing bespoke, detailed measurement plans to solve client's needs
- The expert operation of measurement equipment, in particular Gom ATOS optical 3D scanning equipment, at the office and on customer sites.
- Create as-built models, perform dimensional analysis and prepare 3D models transfer into CAD packages from scan data
- Produce detailed technical reports to present to customers
- Support the commercial function in winning, up-selling and generating repeat business from customers
The Successful Applicant
This role has been created at a critical time for the business and as such presents a fantastic opportunity to grow and develop yourself. A significant amount of training and support will be provided and the long term road map for this role includes people management and commercial responsibility.
The critical skill the successful senior mechanical engineer needs to be able to demonstrate is advanced knowledge of 3D scanning equipment and how to effectively use it to produce quality data.
In addition, ideally you will have a formal engineering/metrology qualification, be competent using 3D CAD systems.
You will be an individual who is willing to learn, whilst being capable of challenging management and taking autonomous decisions. Previous experience dealing with customers will be highly advantageous.
There will be a significant opportunity to travel globally with the role and as such you may work some antisocial hours and spend up to a week away from home at any one time.
