About Our Client
Our client is a public sector organisation in the Bristol region.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be a subject matter expert who is able to provide expert technical advice on the design, condition, capacity, suitability and statutory monitoring of mechanical installations and plant equipment.
You will work closely with senior management to ensure that there is an effective long term maintenance strategy in place and this will involve carrying out inspections and providing cost estimates for the associated maintenance. You will also plan, manage and monitor expenditure and manage allocated project and maintenance budgets.
The property services team will lean on your expertise for you to hold contractors to accountability to ensure that their work is carried out in line with contractual KPI's and statutory compliance.
Whilst there is no direct line management responsibilities with this post, you will be expected to offer general guidance and support to the junior members of the team who are still learning their trade.
The Successful Applicant
To be considered for this position, applicants must have a Mechanical Engineering qualification. We would expect this to be a minimum of a HNC/HND qualification and it would be advantageous to have a professional membership such as CIBSE or IET.
You will need to be well versed and up to date with the relevant legislation relating to mechanical maintenance within property services.
What's on Offer
A salary of £38,000 - £41,000 is on offer and the pension contribution from our client is 22% and you will receive 33 days holiday a year.
Our client operates a true flexible working policy and this is a Mon-Fri post with core hours being between 1000 - 1530.
