Senior Mechanical Engineer
Help drive innovation in the life sciences field
£500m recent investment into their global manufacturing facilities
About Our Client
What does life sciences mean to you?
It's a term that covers a wide range of areas - pharmaceutical development; cannula manufacture; DNA analysis... it's a generic phrase that covers a diverse area.
So it's probably easier to say they engineer and develop equipment that is used in labs and manufacturing facilities in the Cell Therapy space.
They're growing their team after a busy 12 month period supporting various vaccine development projects, so we're recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer into an existing team of five people.
On a global scale, they've just announced £500m investment programme to further develop their manufacturing capabilities, so they're a force to be reckoned with.
Senior Mechanical Engineer is another fairly broad term, but your typical responsibilities can be broken into three areas:
- Firstly, you'll drive R&D projects and design products in Solidworks, following a DFM process and work closely with the CMO partner. As well as NPI, you'll be tasked with continuous development of the existing product portfolio, because although it's a world leading product, it can always be improved upon.
- Secondly, you'll be a technical expert in front of customers where required. You'll be involved with the sales process on occasion as an engineering specialist, adding value in non-commercial ways.
- Finally, you'll be part of high performing team, and naturally lend your wisdom to others where it's needed.
The Successful Applicant
You probably have about five years experience in a mechanical engineering position, developing new products and overseeing their introduction to manufacturing.
Because of the nature of the product line and regulations, you'll need to have exposure to medical devices and ISO13485 regulations.
Other than that, we're fairly flexible, so if you think you're the Senior Mechanical Engineer we're looking for, get in touch.
What's on Offer
We're able to provide a high starting salary, along with a 10% pension contribution, 5% bonus, 26 days annual leave (plus your bank holidays), life assurance and medical cover.
Alongside that, the business is only looking to grow, so career development and progression will be there for the taking.
