Job Description

Senior Network Engineer - Manufacturing

  • Creates concepts to ensure highly available connectivity (LAN, WAN, WLAN) including VPNs, active carrier management
  • Actively drives the evaluation, procurement and deployment of network components and services for all European entities
  • Operates and optimises communications networks and services; monitors the functionality and capacity of networks and network services
  • Administers access authorisations, identifiers, addresses and directories for network operation and network services
  • Implements and updates processes for operation of communication services, maintains technical plans and documentation
  • Locates and eliminates faulty states in networks and services; initiates measures to minimise susceptibility to faults and increase service quality
  • Performs performance and capacity analysis to monitor network capacity and utilisation
  • Maintains a technical inventory of all installed and stored network components (hardware and software) and network services
  • Supports the European entities in the implementation of the service and support portfolio
  • Participates actively in projects with focus on IT connectivity and infrastructure aspects, working with the global team
  • Willingness to offer support in the form of second line when required

The Successful Applicant

Senior Network Engineer - ManufacturingThis role has recently been vacated in Europe and now it is being recruited as a UK position. The successful applicant will be required to travel across the UK between office and manufacturing sites and may also be required to travel to mainland Europe to meet with colleagues. Candidates will ideally be able to demonstrate all or most of the following attributes:

  • Sound knowledge in various network and firewall components, Mobile Devices and VPN
  • Experience with SD-WAN technology, VoIP , ideally PKI
  • Experienced in supporting medium or large international Businesses
  • Sound knowledge in the administration of Active Directory
  • Sound knowledge in Microsoft Office systems and tools

The ability to speak other languages including German & French will be an advantage
