To support this mission, we are seeking a Senior Purchasing Manager with deep manufacturing experience and a strong focus on reducing Bills of Materials (BOM) to join their team.

Job Description

  • BOM Optimisation: Lead efforts to reduce BOM costs by identifying cost-saving opportunities, negotiating with suppliers, and selecting cost-effective components without compromising quality.
  • Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring reliability, quality, and timely delivery of materials. Negotiate favourable terms and agreements.
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct in-depth cost analysis to identify cost drivers, recommend cost reduction strategies, and track cost-saving initiatives.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Implement best practices in strategic sourcing, including vendor assessment, selection, and performance evaluation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, engineering, and quality control, to ensure alignment and drive continuous improvements.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to optimise working capital while ensuring material availability to meet production needs.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and ethical practices, and develop risk mitigation strategies.

The Successful Applicant

  • Ideally MCIPS qualified or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a senior-level purchasing or procurement role with a manufacturing focus
  • Demonstrated success in reducing BOM costs and optimising supplier relationships.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and sourcing software.Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is essential
