About Our Client

A large & growing residential housing provider requiring a fire safety project management surveyor. Based from home with an agile working policy.

Job Description

  • Fire Safety inspections and upgrades on residential properites
  • Management of the fire risk assessment programme
  • Fire safety remedial works

  • Assist the Development Team by managing Building Safety Cases through the gateway approval process
  • Foster a sound relationship with the Building Safety Regulator to ensure that their expectations are understood and implemented within our development practices
  • Advise on the assessment, review and approval of prospective construction methods, building materials and installation methods
  • Lead the application for Building Assurance Certificates from the Building Safety Regulator
  • Act as a building safety technical expert to assist the Development Team with technical building safety queries on new and complex developments
  • Provide expert technical advice on building safety related defect identification and remedies to new and existing buildings
  • Work alongside the Development Team to agree and deliver a consistent high standard for the production of Golden Thread data and Building Safety Cases
  • Maintain an expert understanding of statutory and regulatory building safety requirements, building regulations and guidance
  • Promote collaborative working across Asset Management and Development to support delivery of high-quality safe homes

The Successful Applicant

It is desirable for the successful candidate will meet most of the following:

  • Excellent knowledge and experience of building pathology, construction methods and materials
  • Experience of managing fire safety projects in residential properties
  • Thorough understanding of JCT contracts

  • Thorough understanding of building regulations and the requirements of the Building Safety legislation

  • Experience of working on construction projects and the stages involved from planning to occupation

  • Proven experience of investigating and resolving building defects

  • Proven experience of working collaboratively with other teams to implement procedures and improve efficiency

  • Proven experience of negotiating with external 3rd parties to achieve satisfactory resolutions

  • Knowledge and experience of successful project management, management and negotiation

  • Building Related Degree or equivalent construction qualifications
  • Membership of CIOB/RICS or equivalent
  • Relevant fire safety qualification eg NEBOSH
