About Our Client

Our client is a reputable player in the distribution sector. With a strong presence near Kettering, they have a team of over 1,000 dedicated professionals committed to delivering excellence in logistics and supply chain management.

They are seeking a dedicated Senior Transport Planner to join our their transport planning team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and managing the transportation of goods in an efficient and cost-effective manner within a busy distribution operation.

Job Description

The Senior Transport Planner duties and responsibilities are:

  • Develop effective transport schedules and routes for deliveries
  • Coordinate with customers, suppliers and transport companies
  • Ensure compliance with transport laws and regulations
  • Monitor transport costs and efficiency
  • Respond to any issues or complaints
  • Manage logistics of transport resources
  • Implement health and safety procedures
  • Maintain records of transport activities
  • support other Transport Planners with their workload as and when necessary
  • Deputise for the Depot Manager

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Transport Planner should have:

  • Experience in transport planning within a busy distribution operation
  • Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in logistics software
  • Knowledge of transport regulations and policies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Commercially astute
