Job Description

  • Responsible of the Microsoft Infrastructure across 6 data-centre environments
  • Maintain, monitor and enhance the Platform environment in line with the organisation policies and procedures
  • Mentor junior members of the team and provide knowledge transfer sessions to the IT team
  • Integrate automated processes where relevant
  • Respond to, manage and resolve incidents and tickets raised through the organisation's IT service management ticketing systems by the business or other IT teams
  • Provide technical support to other departments within IT
  • Ensure the platform environment is enrolled in the appropriate capacity management reporting systems in order to provide accurate system utilisation data
  • Support the platform related work streams of the projects and ensure they are executed in a timely manner.

The Successful Applicant


  • Practical administration and engineering experience with Microsoft Server, Desktop and Cloud Technologies
  • Experience of troubleshooting complex Windows Server and Desktop operating system issues including performance, debugging and deployment
  • Experience of Microsoft management products
  • Experience of managing and troubleshooting complex Active Directory environments including replication, authentication protocols and Group Policy
  • Experience of administrating Cloud / SaaS based services
  • Experience of geographically distributed, highly virtualised enterprise data-centre environments running business critical applications.


  • Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems
  • Strong knowledge of complex Microsoft Active Directory
  • Strong knowledge of complex Microsoft systems management technologies (SCOM, SCCM)
  • Good knowledge of Cloud/SaaS technologies including MS Azure services
  • Good knowledge of IP networking concepts, infrastructure protocols and security (IPv4, DNS, DHCP, PXE, Load balancing, Firewalls)
  • Knowledge of scripting languages within programmatic systems management and automation (Powershell etc)


  • ITIL foundation or equivalent service management knowledge
  • Practical experience within strict change control and process driven environments.
