This role is key to the supply chain structure supporting current programs, bids, and ensuring the business is leading the way in terms of the ESG agenda.

Job Description

As the Strategic Sourcing Manager you will:

  • Assess and support the team to ensure they have a clear direction and understand the strategy in terms of supplier development and risk management
  • Lead key high value negotiations with suppliers ensuring the organisation is protected, whilst maximising QCD
  • Review current contracts to ensure terms of business are favourable
  • Work with the programs team to understand where new capacity is required and prioritise sourcing activities accordingly
  • Build strong internal relationship to support internal customers, this will primarily include continuity of supply for production, but will also stretch to occasion input on capital purchases

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be already operating at a Strategic Sourcing Manager / Purchasing Manager level with a regulated manufacturing environment (Aerospace or Automotive)
  • Comfortable managing a small team, providing direction and development
  • Competent and proven in high value, commercial, contract negotiation
  • Show a track record of managing a broad spend portfolio, ideally metals (castings & forgings)
